Whether it is a big US competitor like Monster.ca or more regional Canadian competitors like joboom, workopolis is battling everyday for business among recruiters and job seekers. By focusing on the job seeker, workopolis draws the recruiter in due to their need to cast the widest possible net for candidates. The market has been saturated with claims of “more job postings”, “best job postings”, and the “job that is right for you” messaging. Prior to this new workopolis campaign, nobody had really “aimed high” strategically. The Solution Due North’s solution was to develop a campaign founded on the key insight that people don’t just need a better job. They need a better career. They want a better life. A better career is a means to obtaining that better life they seek. Due North developed a new TV, radio, and newspaper campaign that delivered this new strategic promise in a big way. Wrapped up in our new slogan “Your life awaits”, this new campaign has already resounded with job seekers as workopolis’ numbers can attest.
